Couldn't he say that hiring of illegals should stop!!! Didn't think he would avoid mentioning that to curry favor with the business community so that they continue to fund his show.

Funny that. George Will(who I personally despise on many issues) was getting hammered by Maher yesterday afternoon on immigration. Finally Will says, "OK Bill, what would you do to solve immigration?" Maher says, "I'll pass on that." First I don't think much of Maher.......and its sounds like he's worried about political correctness. Secondly, its too bad that every discussion about illegal immigration eventually has race injected into it. What some people don't want to recognize that beyond the racial implications, there is a problem when you get too much of anything illegally or otherwise. For an example, most people like butterflies but a million butterflies in your neighborhood would be too many. They would be crunching under your feet and making roads slick. The same with nightingales.......most people like the music of nightingales but too many of them would cause droppings everywhere and their constant singing would drive people crazy. For communities that are inundated with illegals, its a similar effect. There are overcrowded apt buildings, neighborhoods and schools and they take jobs that many Americans would do if the payscale was not so low. However, if anyone objects, it becomes a racial issue. And in some cases, that might be true but its not true in all cases...and its times the law was enforced. I am tired of the jawboning. Let's get on with it. And IMO getting on with it is not implementing this crazy AZ law but enforcing federal laws on the subject.
