I really haven't heard anyone say close off immigration. Just regulate it fairly. One clown yesterday made the case that asking people for ID to prove their citizenship is hypocritical for the right wing to ask of illegal immigrants. I find that odd when you consider that getting stopped by any cop today will require legal citizens to display ID or get hauled off to jail. it happens all the time. Why shouldn't illegal immigrants be held to the same standards at legal citizens? What really PO's me is that when going to court, the judge will often let illegals slide because they figure they're not gonna pay anyway!
