Start
Run
Cmd
chkdsk /r
enter

After hitting enter you should get a message telling a disk check has been scheduled at your next reboot.

Forgot you were using Vista, Vista steps

Start
Programs or All Programs
Accessories
Right Click Comand Prompt
Click Run as administrator
chkdsk /r
enter
reboot

That should do it.
