There's a difference between "liberal" as in "unrestrained," and "liberal" as in political. Political liberals claim to be free from intellectual restraints, but they turn out to be some of the most closed-minded, prejudiced folks out there. Not much different from the closed-minded, prejudiced conservatives they oppose. I think I've been called a "liberal" at times, especially when I voice my opposition to the death penalty and my support for a health care public option.
