RE: why use it when you can use a modern, rational language without sacrificing the visual design aspects?

The answer is quite simple. You need look no further than the origin of Basic. Basic was a language designed for people who don't know how to write code. It's appeal has always been for the huddled masses unable to come to grips with real programming languages, and the effort required in world-class application development.

>>Here again the language issue comes up<<
Rod, you must be a professor or some other sort of airchair intellectual, always trying to impress your hapless audience with your mental prowess, all the while missing the forest for the trees.
I believe your schtick can fool some people, but I don't think this gets to to first base on this thread.
The reality is that you have been dead wrong on Borland since I've been around. I had asked you several times about your " BORLAND BACKSLIDE" and you never took up the challenge. I don't doubt for one second that you are a bright guy, but the world is littered with intelligent failures and losers. If you continue to miss this move on Borland as you continue to engage in your holier than thou diatribe, then one could conclude that you too are what I have described.
Get real Rod....
