I thought the apostrophes looked wrong! But felt no compulsion to check. Could be early-onset something-or-other but more likely just stress-related brain overload.

Caseload intensifying. In response to anticipated changes in rules for credit cards, lenders jacked up interest rates, doubled minimum payments, and took other peremptory actions that have caused a cascade of defaults which, in turn, caused a cascade of collection actions, which, in turn, caused me to become even more busy than before.

In 2007-2008, it was crazy mortgages, now it's rapacious credit card companies.
