Brumar, the original text of Dr. Margaret Chan's report is here:

maximsnews.com

Her positive spin on North Korean health care is more professional-sounding and less sensational than what Reuters or Michael Moore would present, but it is still nothing more than pure BULLSHIT.

For example, she said that the average height and weight of North Korean citizens are similar to that of citizens of other Asian nations. That contradicts a study done a few years earlier showing North Koreans are on average 5.9cm shorter than South Koreans.

When called out on that, she gives the disclaimer that those were her own personal observations. But then she brings up the problem of obesity in other Asian nations, which she didn't see in North Korea. Gee, you think that might be because of lack of nutrition? No, she thinks it's because their citizens walk everywhere, and that of course must be a good thing.

I think this is clear proof that the WHO cannot be trusted anymore. I've always known that they were more concerned with equality over quality, but I never thought they would go as far as to support the propaganda of failed socialist regimes like North Korea.

Remember that the next time a liberal uses WHO "statistics" to make a case for government takeover.

Brumar, Amputations without anesthesia in NKorea:

Didn't Margaret Chan of the WHO just praise North Korea as the "envy of many developing countries"?

Can't trust the WHO anymore ...
