No...not at all, your describing Trading as if trading is the goal. I am describing the Investors mind, who registers a valuation statement about the condition of a stock...when buying or selling. The machine wakes up in the morning with its programming...whose Intent is at the soul of that particular program, whose goals are the programs in alignment with? Rule based programming is still intent based, no matter the rationalizations used to set the program in motion, turn the programs on or off. Goals are present in programming. Valuation is disconnect...it is said that 80 some % of the markets float is owned by individual investors directly or by proxy, these programs are working outside of the ownership of the market, seeking essentially a redistribution of property rights from owners to trading systems. Rationalizations focused on speed or any other systemic feature are essentially side shows, for slight of hand...
