"The only reason you want to involve politics is to use the collective powers of government to force charity upon everyone, and that never works (despite how much self-righteous liberals want it to)."

It works in socialist Europe just fine!

Ted, > You are suggesting that the choice is the AZ law or chaos. However, that's not true. There are several other options.....like sueing the fed. gov't instead of passing a law that is blatantly racist and only making things worse.

If the federal government did what AZ wants to do, people will just sue the federal government for racism.

Not true. The fed immigration policy and AZ's new law have some important differences. For an example, the federal law doesn't require law enforcement to pull over every person aka Latino they suspect might be illegal.

that my misunderstanding? And if so, what would you offer the less fortunate under a limited gov't?

I would voluntarily offer my time, my money, and my organizational skills to help those less fortunate.

So. How many hours of volunteer work are you doing now?

This does not require government, and I would argue that it is not the job of government to fix.

Are you prepared to help those financially who are disabled, elderly or unemployed?

Believe me, you would make a much bigger difference if you directly volunteered your resources toward helping the poor, rather than wasting it on partisan politics.

I am being very honest when I said that's not what I want to be doing with my free time......and I don't think that's what you want to be doing either.

The only reason you want to involve politics is to use the collective powers of government to force charity upon everyone, and that never works (despite how much self-righteous liberals want it to).

Forcing charity? What kind of silliness is that. I believe this country is wealthy enough so that none of its citizens should starve to death or live on the streets.
