If Petraeus means that because he acted independently he is less of a threat...Petraeus is sadly mistaken.

Wondered about this too. Contrary to his prior comments, I still suspect he will be maneuvering for the WH in 2012 or 2016.

Otherwise, why? His input was of no value to us but to buttress the famous WH line that any time a terrorist kills or tries to kill in this country, it is "one off".
