In all seriousness, I think that's a smart move. There's something strange going on. I see a boatload of vacant offices and businesses around my house. I've never seen this kind of a slump (at least that I can remember). And it all feels quite strange. I noticed Bernanke babbled something the other day about the need for banks to start lending money to small businesses. The guy doesn't say squat for months on end and then offers up some strange quote like that? That quote gave me a strong sense of foreboding for whatever reason.

What is really odd is the parallels with the Great Depression. The Roaring Twenties were all about great technological leaps with the advent of the phone and radio. People thought that mankind had unlocked the secrets of the universe, fueling a euphoric optimism about the future. Stocks went nuts and you know the story.

And of course, we just had the big computer revolution. I see people walking around with cell phones, little computers, big computers, computer pads, computer tablets, computer this and computer that. It's going to be awful strange when we're surrounded by all this miraculous technology and flat broke at the same time.
