I think Wharfy had posted something like this some 10 days ago. I also remember reading that the BP folks on the rig were aware that the bubble was rising and they thought they could control it's rate of rise. I wonder if they should have raised the alarm early on sought the help of a consortium of experts mush before this went wrong. Besides, there should be better designs of BOP for them to act to break the pressures and close shut. Off course these will be quite expensive if they are designed in a very robust way to be fail proof etc. The oil industry does make big profits and they can and should be forced to adopt these expensive mechanisms.
