I was looking at your charts 10K, and found some reasons to be bullish. The XAU has bounced off support the last three days near the middle of the bollinger. The XAU has also made 4 consecutive higher lows since the Feb. low. This potentially could be the fifth higher low made. It certainly seems to fit the pattern. A sideways down Monday and Tuesday would set us up for a move up if May 12 is indeed the turn.<IMO> Coincidentally, May 12 is Da Chief's WWW (Down into WWW typically means up). The SPX looks like it could be in a bottoming range sitting right at its 200 dma and with its RSI at 30. The USD looks like it has gone parabolic and might be topping here. XAU looks great on the weekly too.

I decided to keep some dry powder and hedge a bit because I don't know how investors will react over the weekend. A 1000 point drop so quickly doesn't happen everyday.

Gold Prices Forecasts for 2010 as per The London Bullion Market Association
Topic: Gold — May 7th, 2010

NOTE: all are predicting gold to break to new all time high, not a bear among them...

ALSO: seems most all are expecting a drop to $1,050 or below sometime this year...
