Skipper, are you really insinuating that my mind is twisted simply because I have a different view on gun ownership than you do, or may interpret a clause in the Bill of Rights differently than you do? Scholars debate this point endlessly; why would the fact that I have an English degree and do not necessarily agree with you be significant at all? I wonder why this subject is so inflammatory that it can hardly be discussed civilly here. Do you support the rights of individuals to own military-type assault weapons? Hand grenades? Exactly where do you perceive your personal freedoms ending regarding weapons, or do you think that they do? I think you and Freddy may disagree with me about what needs to be done with the Second Amendment. If the courts do not clearly agree that the amendment guarantees individuals the right to bear arms, there is no current need to try to repeal the Amendment, since it would be irrelevant to the purposes of the proponents of handguns.

Skipper: Respect for you is waning. 1) You are unreasonably rude to Christine in the tone of your communications; 2) You cite a subordinate phrase deceptively: The 'right of people to bear arms' DEPENDS ON ITS PREDECATE, 'A well regulated Militia being necessary,...'; and 3) This "A is A" crap is an effetist, escapist, irrational canard. How can you appear to be so reasonable and level-headed on the one hand, and so "I-am-God" oblivious of your fellow human on the other? George
