If I recall correctly... that is *still* the law.

(Remember when Americans had to be actually CONVICTED of something first before penalties could be applied? When 'presumed innocent until convicted' meant something?)

I believe that when our country took it's turn down this path to make it 'easier' to seize such assets in peremptory fashion, without requirement for prosecutions and convictions, that was when we took the first steps down the road to the more totalitarian future we seeming are embarked for now....
