Despicable, and thoroughly masculine. They treat their females horribly (of course).

One Ferengi was treated with some sympathy. In the series that took place on the space station (Farpoint?) there was a Ferengi who actually liked baseball and had some honor. We find out later that he was probably influenced by his mother who was a radical feminist who actually wore clothing and even owned property.
