3Com does always surprise me: The French branch of American computer company U.S. Robotics, a unit of 3COM CORP, chartered a helicopter to beat French truckers' roadblocks at the Belgian border and keep up deliveries on Wednesday, company sources said. The helicopter loaded goods in the northern town of Lesquin, flew over roadblocks, and unloaded them in the Belgian town of Miscron 15 kms (10 miles) away to be placed on Belgian trucks. Company sources said some customers in Europe had threateend to cancel contracts if goods were not delibered on schedule. Striking French truckers have set up over 170 roadblocks across the country to press wage demands. (Reuters 03:13 PM ET 11/05/97) Holger
