The jobs math seems complex - jobs gains are reported and an increase in unemployment to 9.9% is also reported at the same time.....and then there is the constant reporting of the uncounted unemployed (stopped looking?) or under-employed.

It isn't very complex at all. Companies are hiring again. Therefore job gains. Unemployed and underemployed people know this. Therefore, more of them are trying to find jobs, and the reported unemployment rate--which in this country only counts people who report that they are actively trying to find jobs, as opposed to those who have given up looking--goes up.

It is pretty straightforward once you get how the different classifications work.

<<<I hope we are soon headed back to "the good old days" of 5-6 years ago. >>>

We had a president that lacked curiosity, didn't understand complex issues, and had a misguided notion about government.

If you are serious about your philosophy on government , you better find yourself a leader with sufficient intelligence to represent those views. If George W. Bush and Sarah Palin are the best that you can offer, you are putting your philosophy under great handicap. Good luck to y'all.
