>>Good question koan.

But to trust the known thief is not my idea of a smart move.<<

The thief is us.

If you are going to rail against the government you have to have another solution. That is how it works. We all know democracy has its failings. But those failings are really the failings of humans not the political system.

The US runs a representative democracyrighton down to th local school board and even bear proof garbage cans-lol.

You seem to be aspiring to a bettter government, which we would all like, but the human condition makes that very difficult. No known political system can accomodate a populace which does nto hqave enough sense to vote in honest smart government officials.

We would not have so many problems with government if the voters just did a better job of electing good representatives. But when we vote in people like Palin, Jesse Helms, Strom Thurmond, Jim Inhoffe or the Tom De Lay's, then the horrible government they give us is to be expected.

But do not blame it on government, blame it on the voters.
