That category would be too narrow, and not useful for analysis. My broader category for you is someone who only comprehends half of what he reads, and significantly less when mathematics or physics is involved. At the same time, you tend to reach for the most facile opinions and avoid rigorous reasoning in your replies. If I don’t take you too seriously, you can be very entertaining while going off on wild tangents during your rants. I can still chuckle at the rare insanity of your posts. I also laugh at the varied replies that you receive. Entertainment is where you find it. I have noticed that when someone is ready to discuss one of your novel ideas like tradable citizenship, you immediately jump off topic and move to another board for a while. My working theory is that you prefer to move from opinion to opinion rather than engage in a discussion that debates the underlying issues of a topic. A while back, I wanted to pursue the idea of luck versus skill with you, but I ran out of time and you seemed to quickly tire from the reasoning required.Look how difficult it is to persuade you. You have a mindset and that's that. So pile on. BTW have you ever crashed a car? Or are you accident-free. Ever had a speeding ticket? I can only assume that these questions come from not understanding the point that myself and others are making. BP has shown a clear intent to save money by not paying for safety equipment and not doing proper maintenance. This is why the Alaskan Pipeline had seriously leaks, why the refinery in Texas blew up, and very likely why they had a blow out in the Gulf. They are not simply having accidents; they are making accidents more likely to happen through their own greed. This should be a very simple point. To be clear, this is my point to you. To answer your questions, I have had accidents. However, I don’t replace parts with cheap seconds and all my vehicles over the last 25 years have had regular maintenance. I will spend whatever money I have to make my cars safe for myself and for others who drive them. Let me ask you a question: How bad is getting a speeding ticket compared to being poisoned at work through company negligence, or immolated at an offshore rig due to corporate greed? I’d like to believe that my mindset is open and flexible. I am prepared to change my opinion of BP, but NOTHING that you have brought to the discussion has changed my opinion. You tell me of things that you said to BP in the ‘80s, but this says nothing about their actually safety record. Do you have any data to defend an improving safety record during any period over the last 30 years? If it’s just your say-so, then all you have is guff, and so go tell it to the devil. I’m all stocked up here.
