You're right the bond holders are very optimistic about Cymer long term, even though they may have hedged their conversion price by shorting a like number of shares.

After all $172.5 million is a lot of money to lend to a "company with a cloudy future" as some short-bound rumour mongers would have people believe. Even when the 3.5% interest rate steps up to 7.25%, that's way below junk bond yields.

I think Cymer is well prepared to remain competetive as future changes unfold.
