For several years I have thought NZ would make motorcycles illegal. They have come up with a cunning strategy - charge people so much money for riding one on the road that few people will be able to justify it.

I have a little motor scooter for example which I use to go a few kilometres on a sunny day once a week. It will be cheaper for me to hire a luxury limousine taxi instead when the new charges come in.

Fun is increasingly illegal in NZ.

I think people should be able to ride motorcycles how they like at the speed they like and if they crash into anyone, turn them into body part donors. There is already effectively no speed limit because there are huge distances of twisty roads, with gravel too, on which people cannot do the speed limit and live.
