The intermediate-term business outlook (March quarter and beyond) is very
strong. The company has increased its production plan twice for the March
quarter.
The outlook for automatic wire bonders for the next 2-3 years is excellent.
While new packaging technologies that do not use wire bonding are emerging,
they will not be pervasive in 1998-1999.
K & S has a long-term plan to offer a range of new packaging technologies from
its Flip Chip Technologies joint venture. The company would make money by
licensing these technologies.
Almost all of K & S' equipment is shipped to customers in Asia. But these
customers are often subsidiaries of U.S. chip companies, or contract
assemblers that are experiencing translation gains.
The potential impact of a product transition on the Dec. quarter put pressure
on the shares. There is a strong backlog for delivery in March and beyond,
and we think this presents a buying opportunity.
BUSINESS DESCRIPTION: K&S is a leading maker of semiconductor equipment whose
specialty is assembly -- wire bonding, die bonding, and wafer saws.

Mike and Don

What is your prediction for the stock movement when KLIC announce 0.59-0.62 cents for the quarter??? Spike up $5 or down $2. I think it will spike(very briefly) up to $39.75 before settling down at $35ish. What do you think??

Scott would be more bullish during the conference. Right????

Mike I wish I would have went golfing this last week, it would have kept me from jumping back into the stock @ 32 5/8 and buying APR 25s @ 8 5/8. However I agree we will explode past 40 ; Hopefully in my lifetime. Sorry to hear you are also suffering with CYMI, but as I told you once before " BRILLIANT MINDS THINK ALIKE" Good luck Don
