BJP, why did you get a laptop.I hate 'em. your problem isn't your pc's. it's you don't have any real systems.and no one to dream up what does it take to really kick the competitons a--. what does it take to drastically reduce all the clerical out of the legal field. what does it take to have research complete on a case looking at the entire world instead of just the as400 and have it done quick. I'm deploying...tqm/mrpii/jit/jitII/ELM/abc exchange2000.com some of the killer aplications are RF data colletionin stkroom's, shipping and recieviing, touchscreen/scanner quality data collection on factory floor, we need at less a p166/p200 for 90% of users becuase all the relational database systems require it..in the relational database systems we have deployed paperless ECN.and RMA, Technology Enabled sales tools, quality data collection, buyer workstation, etc. etc. and of of the ERP that has most the other apps a corp uses. only the enr's need a p266 now. If you were a lawyer I would think that dialing into you case research databases would need at least 56k or ISDN. and no more than a p200. but I would get a p233 or 266 if I was a lawyer. they are developing alot of technology for lawyers now. I think the real issue is your law firm had no dreamers... too bad...the as400 for law fir is bad deal. need proliants with min of p166 to p200...but you need dreamers to come up with apps like I was naming in the mfg environment. I think the IS group for your law firm just said"(I've drawn a blank" <gggggggggg> It's simple..lawyers can't dream so you got no real killer apps. even with the 2 recent purchases from by cpq(adds allot of people) cpq has 80k profit per employee.... go compute gtw.. that's one of gtw's problems. they don't even have ELM yet and alll the other majors do.
