News. Anyone out there? Ping. CQ CQ. Breaker. Yo! VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--I.M.P.A.C.T. Minerals Inc. announces the discovery of significant porphyry copper-gold style mineralization on the El Cinco Zone, Majagual Concession in the Dominican Republic. Trenching results indicate consistent copper and gold mineralization in an interpreted leached cap of a porphyry system, defined over an area of 800 metres x 600 metres. A largely coincident IP chargeability/resistivity anomaly indicates sulphide mineralization at depth and secondary chalcocite mineralization is evidence for a supergene enrichment blanket. The zone remains open in all directions. A 2000 metre drill program is planned for the property. I.M.P.A.C.T. is earning a 60 percent interest in the Majagual Concession from Energold Mining Ltd. Helen Grond, P.Geo. and Cam Graham, P.Eng. of Energold Mining Ltd., the project managers, report that copper and gold mineralization appears to be related to quartz-feldspar porphyry bodies suggesting the presence of a porphyry copper deposit. Copper mineralization has been observed as vein fillings, fracture coatings, and disseminations within volcanics and feldspar porphyry intrusive. Trench samples in highly weathered outcrop and subcrop averages 1815 ppm (0.18 percent) copper and 59 ppb (0.059 g/t) gold over a total length of 792 meters. Trenches at the porphyry/ volcaniclastic contact are strongly mineralized (eg. Trench 8A - 21 metres of 7671 ppm Cu and 87 ppb Au; Trench 5A - 19 metres of 3354 ppm Cu and 121 ppb Au; Trench 3A - 77 metres of 2103 ppm Cu and 38 ppb Au; Trench 7A - 37 metres of 2265 ppm Cu and 65 ppb Au). A summary table and map are attached. Each sample is a channel sample taken over an average of 3 metres in length of outcrop and subcrop exposed in the trench. Rock samples were crushed and split to yield a 1 kg sample prior to shipping. Chemex Labs Ltd. of Mississauga, ON conducted all analyses. Gold is analyzed by fire assay-atomic absorption and copper and eight other elements are analyzed by ICP methods. Check samples are routinely run to test the precision and accuracy of the sampling and analytical methods.
