Two reasons

(1) Sun and every other company can make more money by investing capital in their own business rather than acquisitions. In a recessionary environment or if growth rates slow down this may change dramatically.

(2) Sun and other companies are watching how successful Moab will be with native IP and JAVA. If there is a good product there then suddenly NOVL may fit in with the business model at Sun, IBM etc. Call it the UNIX bigot factor.

Watch for more action this winter.
