The world of atheists and agnostics is a lot larger than Bill, and I don't ever remember elevating him to leader. I don't meet with Bill every Sunday to be programmed, or watch his show. The fact is, most atheists and agnostics keep their "belief" to themselves, lest they activate some idiot evangelical Christian. We don't want to argue Santa Claus with a self deluded adult that thinks us somehow deprived. --------------------------------------------------------------- An atheist is a person who does not believe in the existence of god, or the practice of established religion. This view point differs from that of an agnostic. Those who subscribe to agnostic philosophy do not denounce the existence of god, but instead believe that the presence of god cannot be proven or disproved. While world wide religions have played a drastic role in global social development it is undeniable that atheism and agnosticism have become increasingly influential as many of our most prominent leaders, historians, scientists, and even entertainers tout these beliefs within popular culture. Here are some great places to go for more information on some of the world's most well-known atheists and agnostics. Even though some of these notable figures did vacillate on their beliefs, at one point or another they were considered atheist. Albert Einstein Benjamin Franklin Billy Joel Carl Sagan Dave Matthews Elizabeth Cady Stanton Ernest Hemingway Fidel Castro Frank Zappa Freidrich Nietzsche George Bernard Shaw John Lennon Katharine Hepburn Robert Frost Sigmund Freud Thomas Edison Woody Allen
