"Lincoln killed thousands"

No. But he was the Commander in Chief and was responsible for conducting the war to emancipate the slaves and set them free. Freethinking has nothing to do with being a pacifist. A person thinking freely without undue emotion or dogmatic compunction and with reasonable rationality COULD be a pacifist--OR NOT.

Freethinker is not about WHAT the reason brings (death penalty or no death penalty?). Life is not usually that easy. It is about HOW the values are formed. Are the facts evaluated with logic and clear reason and without undue emotion or prejudice? Was the opinion free of intimidation or fear or threat of torture or death (my name is Galileo and I was wrong. I saw nothing through my telescope. I beg your forgiveness Dear God and His Holy Representatives).

Freethinkers need not hold all the same opinions. But reason honestly pursued with adherence to logic will not stray far. Einstein, Planck and all the others disagreed--but not too worry with such freethinkers!

So we can save our worry for those who know sweet p-ss all about thinking! And be glad THIS country is not the "HOLY LAND." (NOT YET)
