Is this what they mean by dark current? Or is that a raisin in the sun.? If they could find a way to bottle electricity in current loops with superconductors then you could travel with lariats of power that you merely have to untie and plug in when you get low.

If they could monitor each customer's usage to predict by fourier analysis what he needed from day to day they could put together a power usage diagram so they could have a switch to shunt just the right amount of power to each locality. The excess would loop right back to the station and run the generator thereby reducing the need
for water flow.
