You have named Christian Fundies and Communists and Ideologues--and every other polar opposite of a freethinker...but no freethinkers!! As for Marx--being an intellectual is insufficient grounds for granting him the dignity of a freethinker. His logic was faulty, his reasoning was driven by false premises and underlying emotion. He created a dogmatic leviathan that in the end has little to do with reason and thought and everything to do with the rationalizing of brute force. Hint: whenever you find someone advocating the INITIATION of brute force against others you can be assured that such a person is NOT a freethinker. If you check into it you will find that he/she is a Communist, a Christian, a Muslim, or some other irrational ideologue.
