I would recommend running the program off the boot CD and don't install it on your computer. Buy it from a retail store so you don't have to create a boot CD.

The installation CD is also the boot CD, where you can run the program with in DOS mode.

Others may disagree, but I have been doing that way for 10 years.

I use Acronis True Image.

If you have a Western Digital drive in your system, you can download their complimentary copy. It's missing a couple of redundant bells and whistles, so it's less complex and simpler to learn than their commercial product.
