If I could have supper with one person I would choose Ingersoll: Cheerful, erudite, humorous, compassionate, wise, insightful, honest, polite--and every other thing that we generally call great and good. Obviously the last sort of dinner companion you would want... :-) YOU would probably choose the mythical Jesus and talk about castration, hating your parents, making war--and then cursing the figs and the rest of the meal and the cooks and the slaves and all of it.
