No. Because the only usage of that word is pejorative. "GAY" on the other hand is predominantly a word meaning cheerful and is likely to remain so. If it has an alternative connotation and if you use that connotation then that is your choice.

Words are tricky. The intended meaning is what counts. People can accidentally offend someone by using a word that inadvertently causes offense. But it is far more likely that they (MIS)use words to INTENTIONALLY offend some one.

Yes..I have found this to be true over many years of wandering this good earth.
