Oh sure, there are several very plausible reasons for lying... firstly, I'm sure you've heard the phrase that politics has strange bedfellows... who knows what kind of political leverage or grip obumble may have over that politician, obumble is from Chicago, you mess with him, he'll mess with you... Secondly, I would reasonably presume that particular politician knows very little about standards of evidence in the first place and can be convinced easily as most people are without legitimate training or skill in those matters... Thirdly, he may be willing to give it a pass just to avoid controversy with his name attached, as most all politicians fear not getting re-elected due to some sort of controversy, rightly or wrongly... all politicians are cowards by nature, we have no Statesmen these days... I could probably come up with two or three more reasons, but I think you get the idea... but no matter how you slice it, the "reassuring word" of a politician is absolutely no comfort to me and should not be a comfort to anyone with an ounce of common sense...And, (prince among men that you may be) Yes, this is true...you are not the entire crowd of conspiracy believers. So what? I don't believe in conspiracies either, I'm not interested in what others believe or don't believe, that's not my business... I speak only for myself and I know very well what evidence is, I gathered evidence for capital cases for many years, I know what kind of evidence stands on its own without any further question or clarification... the others can continue searching for flying saucers if they choose, that has nothing to do with me...
