I'm sure Ingersoll was a great guy IF he liked you. IF NOT then I'm sure that was another story. He made his money ambulance chasing but he was mostly known as a celebrity blowhard who said such outrageous things that people just had to see it for themselves. Like watching an accident by the side of the road I'm sure many people stared in shock as he publicly damned his own soul to hell by blaspheming and slandering God, the Bible, and the people of God. He made big money and became a rock star which was great while it lasted I'm sure. He now has all eternity to bask in his just and bountiful rewards.

As far as what he did or did not do with young men in his office, that is an open question. The one thing that we can be sure about, is that there was SOME secret and great sin in the life of that man that drove him to suppress his innate knowledge of the existence of God Almighty; who is the ultimate Judge over his soul. We ALL have sin (even great sin) in our lives and we ALL stand guilty before a holy and just God; to whom each of us must give an account for everything we have done. We can deal with our guilt through either repentance or rebellion. We can turn in faith to the only one who died for our sins and who is able to forgive us, or we can spit in God's face. In legal terms; one can throw themselves on the mercy of the court or one can get a fancy talking lawyer like rotten Robert Ingersoll. Only problem is, the God and Judge of the universe does not take bribes and all that fancy talk will get you (when you are guilty) is the chair.
