Paul,

Re - ". Financials are only a starting point
to project the future. Tell me what next 5 years hold for INTC and
I'll use that to make some projections from financials! <ggg>"

Very well said. That makes a point very well. Many of us here, and Paul Engel has added a lot of information, believe Intels future looks very bright. merced, PII, on and on. Yet the "hopefully inefficient" market is penalizing in the short run for the low end chip issue. Seems out of synch and shows a lack of foresight on the markets part. priced for the Qtr and not for the future.

Next topic.

I would love to see a Net Present Value calculation done on the Alpha plant, to show what value that adds to the company, and to each share holder. Any chance you feel you have even some rough estimates for putting this together? Or could Paul Engel project some production rates, prices, margins, etc to help us.

I have an interest in doing this type of thing with each new major acquisition or plant addition. This affects the value of the company, and sooner or later it will show in the value of the stock. If analysts want to obsese on Qtrly earnings, we can prevail with better long term vision.

Finally, does anyone subscribe to the "microprocessor report"?
