I had a mother who taught me society has a lot of things wrong e.g segregation, racism, etc and also taugth me that people do bad things to other people like the way feudal lords treated peasants or large corporations treated workers in sweat shops.. And that I had to look out for it, and it was also my responsiility to protect the weak. She believed one should step in to stop a wrong. She was right on. I was lucky to have a smart compassionate mother.
