My dad is 80. Has to live with us now. He is exactly the same as my grand dad (his father) was at 81. I can see my future! May God bless you. And I'm not religious. Be strong, and ignore the younger guy.

The religious angle in AA is a big problem for a lot of people. In truth, it's not a religious program, but people who are in it often drag that into it. Perhaps your sister could seek out the "We Agnostics" AA meetings. They do exist, though they're harder to find.

Sorry to hear about all your other traumas. I relate to the accident and even more to the news about your dog. I have lost a lot of animals over the years, and it's always extremely painful. But just part of the experience of having a pet.

As for those who would give you a hard time about feeling the way you do, well, fuck 'em. That's what I say. Pardon my French.
