Hi Z

First go back in history and see if you can ever find a price war happening between September and April. I understand your concerns about Samsung. But Samsung ships 700 000 drives per month while QNTM and WDC ship about 2 000 000 drives per month. Samsung doesn't have a very broad product line either. Samsung may be a major player someday but it won't be next summer. IBM has amazing technology but WDC and QNTM are both very well run companies. Both have kept costs very low. And each company is a volume leader. I think they can handle the competition.

On price. Samsung offered their drive at $300. Although I know it will
sell for less, it isn't priced very aggressively. I think we should wait until sustained broad price pressure has emerged. This latest blip in prices was limited to old inventory and didn't spread over into the mainstream.
