This recession should have been over already and, if anything, has been prolonged by the actions of the current administration and congress (just as happened with FDR and the Depression). You cannot spend your way out of a bad economy. There is not one shred of evidence to support the claim that you can. At best, you can generate a momentary blip which subsequently is given back in the form of inflation.
