Give it a shot, my failed images were on version 10.0, older than 2009. My guess it will restore just fine, make sure your OS supports that version of True Image.

When I upgraded to True Image 2010, it required SP3 for Windows XP. Not sure if that would make a difference from just running off the Boot CD, but I upgraded my computers to XP SP3 anyways.
