I give you a challenge

Certainly I will like to pick this one up, and I think it's necessary to go a step further in light of all the questions raised on the subject.

It might take some time as I am overwhelmed with tasks coming my way quickly after a lull in activity. My favorite quote is "there never needs to be any mad rush" even when there is such a need. Consistency counts.

So, I will try backing up and restoring my notebook by the methods suggested.

Not only that, but if there is any problems (hopefully there will be, if not I'll see if I can "ding" one in -g-) and send the results off to technical support of each organization to see if any real help is provided.

Offhand, I will say I expect to get support from all three organizations. It will probably take days but these departments are often very busy, and are not necessarily there to help small fry. I would be surprised if Paragon didn't help me. The only account I have with them is service supplied with an outdated (less then $10 bought on ebay) product.

I don't know if you have worked in any customer service roles, but there is a knack to getting the best help available. Sure you can get a person handling your case who treats it in a very minimal and routine way, but if you peek their interest the results are often surprisingly helpful. Confrontation rarely helps, just see if you can get someone else and trust to pot luck -g-

One final note. If I do get a response from a help desk, I always fill in the questionnaire on quality of service afterwards. The default score is ALWAYS max points, and only lowered by a small amount if there is a particular defect I would like them to focus one. A score of 9 instead of a 10 for example. Makes sense if you think about it, especially is you have ever worked in one of those organizations. It's "one minute manager" type of stuff. Keep the rats fed, keen, and their noses pointed in the right direction. -g-

So give me a month or two with this one. I am keen to find out myself though.
