When we delegate power to the government it is inevitable that it will be abused.

Sure.. because of the nature of the people who seek that kind of power, as well as the "deal-making" that has to take place in order to achieve compromises with other representatives/interest groups.

The history of government is the battle between the freedom of the individual and the power of the state.

Actually, that's only the most recent history. There has never been a government prior to the US that ever acknowledged the unalienable rights of the individual.

But I think you and definitely find agreement on the fundamentals.

Let's just not make the mistake in believing that corporations represent the individual. They represent a collective of selfish interests aligned at achieving a profit from selling their goods and services.

And there's nothing wrong with that, UNTIL they start believing they have more rights than the individual.

Then they have to be reminded for whom that constitution was written.
