Cris:
Today? Or last evening? If they are bashing along with the
bandwagon, somebody wants this stock to go down. I wonder when
the take-over bid is coming?

You can see ASND's credibility problem with a comparison of Monday & Wednesday's articles:

MONDAY - Reuters
"Ascend, a maker of telecommunication gear for Internet service providers and online services, also said it expects revenue growth of about 10 percent sequentially from quarter to quarter for the next few quarters."

WEDNESDAY - Reuters
"Sequential revenue growth will increase closer to 10 percent in the second half of 1998, said Bernie Schneider, Ascend treasurer and corporate vice president."

Monday they inferred 10% quarter to quarter growth for next two quarters. Now on Wednesday, they are saying 10% growth second half of 98. On Monday they said 10% next quarter, now Wednesday they're saying it could be 5%. That's half of what it was Monday. What's the deal!?!? The brokerages sure weren't kidding when they said ASND has a credibility problem. I think they should fire Mory. Stock would probably pop over $30 easily.
