All,

I saw that press release about manipulating the Java benchmark. I find it hard to believe that Sun would do something like that, but maybe they did. I would think they would've thought it was strange that they scored extremely high in just one test and not the others. Would they do something so stupid thats so easy to catch them on?

Another interesting article:

networks, Points of Presence (POPs) and enterprise networks. NavisAccess is now available on Sun Solaris and

I've always wanted to see more tools, classes, seminars, etc. on converting from NT to Solaris<BG> Maybe this will happen soon as IT managers discover how sorry NT is.

Gottfried:

Re: Sun being accused of manipulating Java speed tests.

I am afraid I am not familiar with their test case benchmark test. However I am most confident and from knowing Sun's business rule of conduct and its unique integrity in the industry, it will not advertise something if it was not true. For one thing Sun has a greate relationship with the academic world (i.e. Universities, and research laboratories) and because of that Sun will not in any way jeopordize the relationship to gain some insiginificant business upper hand by false advertising. Java's performance both on NT and Sun is the same (which is still a bit slow compared to traditional 3GL programs - but improving rapidly).
