I don't think the current Tory mainstream has very much in common with today's Republican party, if that's what you mean.


I am talking about that secret document/memo/letter that got exposed during the campaign just before the election where the Tories' secret intentions were different than those publicly stated. In liberal US states, Rs running for office claim they are not like their national counterparts....they are more liberal and move to the beat of their own drum. The reality turns out to be quite a bit different. I think that's what the Tories have done in the UK.......put on a more liberal facade for the campaign. Now that its over I suspect we will see a different Tory. Time will tell if I am right.
