You are not getting what free markets are about.

Horse shit! What is it about the derivative gambling do you find consistent with capitalism? Your weird example aside - there is nobody who is more in favor of capitalism than I am. But if you think the US is a capitalistic country anymore You're nuts. Its a corporatilism where the government steps in and pays money in every which way to the favored. From bailouts to GS, to continual funding of the military complex to farmers getting subsidies - capitalism is being ruined.

Re: Noodles.

"You are not getting what free markets are about.
Let me use an example from the grocery store.

In the U.S.
Ramen Noodles cost about $0.10 per package. Chuck roast runs about $2.50/lb. Ribeye Steak runs about $10.00/lb."

In China
Ramen Noodles cost about $0.001 per package. Chuck roast runs about $0.025/lb. Ribeye Steak runs about $0.10/lb.

"A US worker with a high school degree is the grocery equivalent of Ramen Noodles in this global economy. A US worker with a bachelors degree is the grocery equivalent of chuck roast. A US worker with an advanced degree in a high demand industry is Ribeye Steak."

A Chinese worker with a high school degree is the grocery equivalent of Ramen Noodles in this global economy. A Chinese worker with a bachelors degree is the grocery equivalent of chuck roast. A Chinese worker with an advanced degree in a high demand industry is Ribeye Steak.

The New York Strip will sell at market all day long.

Methinks even the New York Strip here in the U.S. will be on food stamps before long, if the free market has its way.
