I no longer use tc2000, so I am unsure if MSWIN 6.5 does a better job, 6.0 put them in A-Z files, you didn't get 2000 in a dir. I don't like 26 different directories for my stocks. I always used the datacon program provided by TC2000. your source dir should be c:\tc2000\data
By saving your setup as a template, you can click thru a dir with that setup in place. you should leave out line studies, you will have to apply these because example: gann fans are applied to a major low or high.

When you run conversion from the downloader, it will establish dirs and files. there is a check box for dop files which you need to use in most other programs. I don't know what dop does, I know I need them for other programs.

Gary,

1. avoid the downloader at all costs. Use TC2000's datacon program.

2. Do as richard says and use templates. Take your favorite template and save it as default template and then all charts open with that
layout. TURN OFF SMARTCHARTS!

Gary,
Adding to the other answers here,
-ELwave might not be able to read the new MS dirs anyway.
-the DOP files are the little buggers that chew up disk space to just spell out the display format.
-don't recall whether datacon does or can be told to do DOPs, but they are all identical so you can add them if needed.
-consider returning 6.5?
