Reading this book now. A bit dated but very interesting. The segment on the Clinton's is one all should read. amazon.com ZM

Clinton was voted into power, twice, and he would have romped in for a third term. Then people voted for King George II so they should not be surprised they got the war in Iraq and big government. Then they voted for melanin in skin. They have got excellent melanin levels in the White House now. Hillary thought they should get really good gender, but they are saving that for another time. When the intellect of an electorate is skin deep, the results are as expected. And didn't the people who borrowed loads of money have some responsibility for the loans they took on and the prices they chose to pay for the houses they bought with borrowed money? I don't see how a president or central banker is going to set a price for something as individual as a house. It's up to buyers and sellers to come to an agreement. It's up to mortgagees whether they think it's a sensible agreement worth lending money on. Blaming somebody else for one's own dumb decisions is normally popular. I considered buying a house in California a few years ago and it was ridiculously over priced [it needed to halve just to be even half reasonable]. People were paying those stupid prices. A francophile and bibliophile etc are just people who like French things, books etc. When did liking children, which to me is highly normal and anyone who doesn't is suspect and weird, get turned into a sexual obsession? The main problem these days is that there aren't enough paedophiles and the well-being of children is ignored in the pursuit of profits. As a result, hordes of dislocated under developed adolescents are turned loose on the world with little idea of how to fit in and how to create a life for themselves.
