There's not a better decorated man in Washington and I am proud to have Sam Johnson serve me in Congress. 62 combat missions in Korea and 25 combat missions in Vietnam... shot down, tortured, and 7 years as a POW... A decorated war hero, Johnson was awarded two Silver Stars, two Legions of Merit, the Distinguished Flying Cross, one Bronze Star with Combat "V" for Valor, two Purple Hearts, four Air Medals, and three Air Force Outstanding Unit Awards.
